These kinds of trucks are basically designed to collect waste and haul it to treatment facility. Trash truck and dump truck in the US, bin wagon, dustcart, dustbin lorry and bin motor elsewhere. These are common in urban areas.
I supposed that this demonstrates 2011 technology at work. Even for garbage trucks. I've just starting see these trucks in my neigborhood. In my part of town, each home has separate recycling bins and garbage cans and there are corresponding trucks. I first saw the 'automated arms' on the recycling trucks. About a year later, 'automated arms' started to appear on the garbage trucks.
These trucks were very hard working
I would love to drive around in a garbage truck in my town. I know they are slow, but they are very impressive looking!
These trucks were really built for this kind of job. I have seen once in Japan that their dump trucks were using the collected waste as their fuel. I think this will be helpful if improve and applied this kind of technology to our dump trucks.
I think a lot of people take garbage trucks for granted. They don't realize how well they are designed at all.
