Setting up files associations

Applicable to: Manager, Viewer, Media Player

The association is Explorer shell feature, which associate files of some type with application that handles these files. With association you can start the appropriate editor for a file, with double click on the file or with Open command. The association is not restricted to AccelMan, but also works in any Windows application.

There are four commands, which supports associations: Open, View, Edit and Print. You can assign the same application for all commands, or select different ones.

Select Associate with from Files menu item and choose the appropriate command to setup association.

This dialog contains following controls:

List of applications: from this list you can select appropriate application to associate specified file with.

Parameters: if application requires some parameters, you can specify it here. Symbol %1 means opening file.

Always use this application to process this type of file: check current box if you wish to process files always. If this box stays unchecked – file will be opened once, but association will not be stored.

Other…: If there no required application in the registered list, press this button to open Browse dialog, where you can locate the executable file. It will be placed into list and in future you can select it there.

If you wish to cancel of association for some files type – call associations dialog and choose <none> instead of application.
