Searching for folders, files and text

Applicable to: File Manager, Viewer, Player

With AccelMan you can search files and text with a strong and exact conditions. To start searching select Search from Edit menu or press Alt+F7.

To quick search press Alt+Q or select Edit » Quick Search menu to display quick search box, where you can type first symbols for incremental search for the text

GENERAL CONDITIONS

File(s) mask: standard Windows wildcard for searching files. Use optional ? and * symbols.
Text: text string you wish to find in files.
Options: some options for current search
    Case sensitive: if checked, text will be searching with case sensitivity.
    Whole words only: if checked, only text limited with separators will be searching.
    Skip recycled files: files in Windows Recycle Bin will be skipped to increase speed.
Scope: this option defines search scope. It may be one of the following:
    All local drives: only local hard drives. All network, removable, etc. drives will be skipped.
    Entire current disk: only currently active drive will be processed.
    Current and sub directories: only current and all its sub directories will be looked for files.
    Current directory only: only current directory, excluding all its sub directories.
    Specified in the tree >>: only folders, that specified in folders tree at right. If checked Scan Sub directories box, then sub directories of specified folders will be processed too.

DATE CONDITIONS

To turn off date restrictions select All files, otherwise click on Only files that were…, choose date field (creation, modification or last opening date) and select one of following conditions:

Today: only files, that were modified/created/opened today (from 0:00am till 12:00pm).
Yesterday: only files, that were modified/created/opened yesterday (from 0:00am till 12:00pm).
This week: only files, that were modified/created/opened during current week (from Sunday 0:00am till Saturday 12:00pm).
Between…: only files that were modified/created/opened during specified period.
Last … days: only files that were modified/created/opened during specified period.

Advanced conditions

Size restrictions: AccelMan will iterate only files that greater and smaller specified sizes. If some restriction does not used – enter 0 as value.
Attributes restrictions: use attributes restriction. If appropriate box turned on – files with same attributes will be included in search scope, if it is unchecked – files will be skipped, otherwise – this attribute will be ignored.
Recode searching text before into: To recode searching text before processing of files please check this box and choose a code page.

The more conditions defined, the fewer files will be found.
