What's new in the last version?

Version 2.5 was released 20 January 2003 with following changes:

Batch files operations support. You can rename, copy and move a group of files applying common rules.
AccelMan reference converted into modern HTML format and essentially revised.
Implemented fully customizable columns in files lists, history, search results and media player. Now you can select which columns should be displayed, and which should stay hidden. Click with right button over any header to adjust visible columns.
Corrected sorting by date and time.
Added "Lock Toolbars" option (toolbars context menu).
Corrected bug with files grouping.
Corrected problem with files tree and list synchronization.
Improved files selection.
Fixed some bugs and made some other minor improvements.

What is AccelMan?

AccelMan is a universal explorer replacement and even much more. Its basic components are: power file managers, multi format viewer and media player. These components named "frames" and grouped ("docked") in the main window of AccelMan.

Powerful file manager

File manager of AccelMan provides you with all standard operations (files coping, moving, zipping, etc.) with a lot of original extensions: folders comparison and monitoring; files highlight; splitting/combining; bookmarks for files and folders; history list; navigation list; powerful and effective search for text and files; text, MS Office, graphics and hexadecimal editors; selection by mask and date, and more

Graphics viewer

Graphics viewer of AccelMan supports more than 30 formats and provides you with basic functions of image edition: brush, eraser, color picker, filler, etc. Through the windows clipboard you can copy/paste any part of viewing image into any documents. There is full screen slide show, you can set any image as desktop wallpaper directly from AccelMan.

Integrated media player and play list manager

AccelMan has built-in multimedia player and a rich set of tools for play list management. Thanks to integration with file manager, creation of play list is simple and clear. You can play partially play record, sort items of play list, remove dead records, reorder and even generate HTML play list with actual links to your music and video. Play lists (*.pls, *.m3u) are compatible with WinAmp, Windows Media player, Sonique, and other popular players.

Text editor

Viewer of AccelMan can display and edit text files: RTF, ASCII and some MS Office documents (through MS Office converters). ASCII editor provides you with syntax highlight, 6+ code pages support and hexadecimal mode, where you can edit files of any formats.

True Type fonts viewer

AccelMan has a customizable true type fonts viewer. You can easily install viewing font without Control Panel service. This original feature is absent in popular managers (like Windows Commander, Power Desk or Frigate). We think it could be useful for designers, computer painters and all whom often change configuration of system fonts.

Zip and Unzip utility

AccelMan handles WinZip compatible zip archives like usual folders. You can add, extract, view or play files directly from archive. Original Archiving-on-fly option helps you zip files when you copy, move or even send by e-mail Supported self-extractable archives too.

Effective search

With AccelMan you can search files and text with a strong and exact conditions, including search area, file size, attributes, date of modification or creation, searching text may be recoded before search into 6+ code pages. All result are grouped and stored in a Search Results tree, where you can work with files like in regular manager.

Bookmarks for files and folders

AccelMan can bookmark your files, folders, drives like any other objects. With bookmark you can quickly open a folder, view often used file or play a play list. Creating and using of bookmarks are simple with Bookmarks Toolbar.

Batch operations

With AccelMan Batch operations feature you can rename, move or copy a group of files applying common rules. AccelMan controls file names duplication and provides you with a set of templates for name generation.

Many original Know-How

In AccelMan implemented improved Send To menu, Directory monitoring tool, extended drag and drop technology, Filters Toolbar, floating Trash Bin, Manager quick drives bar, navigation history and many, many more.

Wide individual customizations

In AccelMan implemented flexible user interface with thin adjustments and customizations. You can setup toolbars, context menus, status bar, keyboard shortcuts, structure of main window and style of any AccelMan frame. You can work with unlimited number of file managers, you can tile or dock it, at one moment you can work with more than two managers. The layout of the AccelMan may be saved and restored. There are some predefined schemes that allows you to make an interface and functionality of AccelMan like Windows Explorer or some other shells.
